More and more schools today feel the need to build a solid development program for its administrators, faculty, and staff. Unfortunately, existing programs offered at the universities are not always adequate in responding to our needs. We are beginning to realize the need to collaborate closely with specialists in the universities to design programs that are suitable to the needs of practitioners and relevant to their context. Only in this way can any development program be acceptable to—and effective for—teachers.
• avail of the knowledge and guidance of educators and specialists in the universities, and
• have their training credited for graduate studies, if they so wish.
At present, the IGNITE offers two tracks: Professional Development (in partnership with ADMU) and Ignatian Formation (in partnership with the Center for Ignatian Spirituality and the Emmaus Center for Formation).
While IGNITE is dedicated primarily to educators in Jesuit schools through the JBEC (Jesuit Basic Education Commission) and other schools inspired by the Ignatian Spirituality, teachers from other private schools are welcome to avail of our programs. We hope that in the very near future, IGNITE can provide outreach to public school teachers in the San Juan and Mandaluyong districts.
